German Open Day - A Huge Success

Many thanks to Ralf Niemeyer for hosting the first Claydon Drill Open Day on his farm near Hamburg, Germany. Ralf has been running a Claydon Drill for 2 years and has witnessed a 10% increase in his yields since he moved across to the system. The Open Day attracted nearly 80 interested German farmers and was also attended by Spencer and Jeff Claydon who were delighted with how strong Ralf’s crops look and the positive response from the German farmers.

Ein grosser Dank geht an Ralf und Birte Niemeyer fur die Ausrichtung des ersten „Claydon Drill - Tag der Offenen Tur“ in Deutschland auf deren Betrieb in der Nahe von Hamburg. Herr Niemeyer setzt seit zwei Jahren die Clydon Maschine ein und verzeichnet eine 10%ige Ertragssteigerung, seit er auf dieses System umgestiegen ist. Der Tag der Offenen Tur lockte uber 80 Teilnehmer auf den Betrieb. Jeff und Spencer Claydon waren ebenso selbst vor Ort und waren begeistert von Herrn Niemeyers Bestanden und naturlich auch von der positiven Resonanz der deutschen Landwirte.

Richard Long, who farms 240ha at Peasenhall, near Framlingham, runs a Väderstad Rapid for establishing most of his cereal acreage but has used Agrivice to establish all of his 44ha of oilseed rape for the past five seasons, as well as about one-third of his cereal area.

Following the success of the larger 4m, 4.8m and 6m Hybrid Drills (folding to 2.85m for road transport), Claydon will be releasing a 3m fixed width version of the machine at the Cereals 2011 event.
