Claydon demo of Hybrid Drill and Straw Rake at SPNA Open Day, Ebelsheerd
Claydon were pleased to be able to demo to lots of farmers from the Netherlands and beyond their Hybrid Drill and new 3m Straw Rake at the SPNA Open Day, Ebelsheerd on 2 July 2013.
Held at the SPNA research farm in Ebelsheerd in Nieuw Beerta, visitors were brought up to date with the latest news on winter cereals, oil seed rape and sugar beet and the latest in drilling techniques. Claydon also demonstrated their Hybrid Drill and Straw Harrow, raking and then drilling directly into the wheat stubble. The 3m Straw Harrow is one of the latest products in the Claydon System range and is great for decimating slug populations, creating a tilth for chitting volunteers and weeds for later spraying off and for then direct drilling.
Visitors were also able to see the results from both winter and spring Claydon sown wheat. The winter wheat field is an official trial carried out by SPNA in order to compare various direct drilling methods and how they work on their heavy clay soils. Seeing these crops grow will give a better insight into how the Claydon system works and what it can do for your soil and crop.
